Nagambie's exploration focus is the search for shallow gold deposits in these smaller historic goldfields of Victoria, which is the second highest State in Australia for gold production and prospectivity but currently second last in exploration investment.

These fields with only little sporadic work mainly during the latter part of the nineteenth century and only near surface (less than 50m) had interesting results as shown in the official gold returns. The company has assigned "Exploration Groups" to focus its exploration and “Development Groups” for on going development in these areas and assigned specific projects areas in which an encouraging number of prospects have been discovered as shown in the accompanying tables.
