Howqua Project
EL 5981
(Nagambie 100%)
Mineralisation appears related to the concentration and remobilisation of base metals and gold within the highly fractured imbricate-thrusted Mt Wellington Greenstone Belt. Placed in this group as it is outside the Central Victorian region of interest. Area totalling 5 km2
EL 5189 was granted during 2009 and MIN 5420 which was inside the EL 5189 area was surrendered and application has been made with Department of Primary Industry approval to incorporate this into the exploration licence.
The licence is situated along the eastern edge of a 50km wide imbricate thrust belt and suture zone and three prospects have been identified. Investigation will continue as the interpreted combined data todate indicates a 700 metre long area of anomalous mineralisation which is potentially several times larger than the Great Rand (Mountain Chief) historic mine which was the reason for the original MIN 5420.
